Art
What is the relationship between our contemporary visual and material cultures and the legacies of dispossessions? How can art challenge colonial and patriarchal values and institutions that have systematically overwritten the priorities of Indigenous, Latinx, and Afro-descendants, as well as women and Queer/Trans people?
Fourteen exhibitions were funded in nine countries that spoke to these issues. Whether dealing with politics, indigeneity, race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, social injustices, dispossessions, or environmental crimes, art is above all a medium of communication, of emotional connection, and often of activism. You can search exhibitions by country, artist, and other criteria.
